Hello, I’m Martin Hawie, born in Peru and based in Cologne, Germany, where I have been working as a director and screenwriter for the past 20 years.
My experiences as an immigrant and my desire to tell authentic and diverse stories led me to create Not Killing Lola, an intense neo-noir thriller about loyalty, betrayal, and the challenge of living with ADHD in a chaotic and violent world.

The film is scheduled to shoot in September 2025 over a period of 21 days in Cologne.

To bring this vision to life, we are seeking partners and collaborators for financing.

Too impulsive, too fast, too chaotic, and strictly controlled by his ADHD: when a hitman is tasked with killing a rebellious woman, their encounter shatters the fragile order of his life and forces him to confront himself.

Synopsis

Manny is a hitman whose life is defined by strict self-control and ADHD. When he is assigned to eliminate the rebellious Lola, his carefully constructed world begins to unravel. Instead of carrying out the mission, a complex connection develops between them, challenging Manny’s loyalty, morality, and future. Caught in a web of betrayal and violence, he must decide whether to remain bound to the darkness that shaped him or to embrace a new chance at redemption.
